Thanks for visiting Ailbe.org. I joined the Fellowship of Ailbe to pursue a vision… a vision of a profound and classical faith enriched by the disciplines of and inspired by the activity of the Celtic saints that they might inform my own faith.
The Celts remind us that the values we claim for ourselves today as “evangelicals” were not unique to us… their commitment to Holy Scripture as authoritative… their devotion to the Psalms … their proactive approach to mission were the product of the Holy Spirit’s work in Christ’s Church long before we arrived on the scene!
The Protestant doctrine of sola scriptura embraced by all the Reformers does not mean we reject the lessons of the ancient Church. Rather, with Luther, Calvin, Melancthon, Bucer, et al, that doctrine requires us to heed these saints as they witness to Holy Scripture and the Apostolic Faith.
