but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled. They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.
To summarize, the defiled and unbelieving are oblivious to the obvious. They refuse the very evidence of their own eyes as the heavens declare the handiwork of the LORD, God, the Almighty. (Psalm 19) All creation declares His handiwork, and it cannot be denied.
