I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
The Lord’s gold brings to mind the purity and incorruptibility of His Word, the white garments remind me of the transformation and restoration that is being worked in me and the salve is the Holy Spirit anointing the eyes of my heart (Eph. 1:18) so that I may see the glories of the transcendent.
