Who rises up for me against the wicked? Who stands up for me against evildoers? If the LORD had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.
Protect me, Lord, against the wiles and temptations of the Evil One. Keep me alert and with my eyes wide open to see and understand the snares that have been set for me. Keep me from believing that I can stand in my own strength; that I have the power to withstand. Only through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
