Psalm 91:3-8
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.
Lord, it is easy, as we go into this task of guardianship, to be consumed with the fear of the unknown, to allow the uncertainties of future decisions to weigh heavily on the tasks of today. Help us to lean heavily on You, to seek Your guidance and wisdom each step of the way, and to give You the glory. Let us not be consumed with the consequences of the past wickedness that has created this mess but see it as an opportunity to be Your witnesses. And this goes for our work with all ex-inmates also.
