Be not afraid when a man becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases. For when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not go down after him. For though, while he lives, he counts himself blessed –and though you get praise when you do well for yourself—his soul will go to the generation of his fathers, who will never again see light. Man in his pomp yet without understanding is like the beasts that perish.
You, the Lord, God Almighty, have covered me with Your promises and I am content in the fullness of that love. However, I do pray for those, especially for those in my family and among those whom You have given me to shepherd, that they also, would be filled with the knowledge and conviction that You are sufficient for all their needs. That they too, as they seek You and Your righteousness as their first and only priority, all other considerations will fall away and become as dross at their feet.
