For your name’s sake, O LORD, preserve my life! In your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble! And in your steadfast love you will cut off my enemies, and you will destroy all the adversaries of my soul, for I am your servant.
I know that some of my foes are the family of our ward and that they wish us harm. But the concerning foes are those more subtle and sly minions of the Evil One who tempt and blandish sin that is wrapped in glitter, drenched with perfume to hide the stench and decay, whose end is loss of communion with You. Save me from such as these that I remain constant in Your grace.
