A Song of Ascents. Of David. O LORD, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forevermore.
How easy it is to, as my English friends say, “Get my knickers in a twist” over an issue that is far beyond my purview. I need to practice the habit of going to the Holy Spirit and seeking His guidance, listening to Him and obeying before I go off half cocked. So much damage has been done over the years because of a mouth that is firing before the mind has gone to the LORD, seeking the guidance of the LORD, God, the Almighty.
