Therefore all Yourprecepts concerningall thingsI consider to beright; I hate every false way.
Once again stressing that the Word of God is to be our guide in every aspect of our lives. If the Word says thou shalt, I had better get started to jump before I ask how high. And conversely, I better set the brakes first, then question the extent of the directive. The Holy Spirit will guide me every step so long as I am seeking to be obedient to the Word.
Think about this. The Word says thou shalt not murder. At what point does life begin and this Commandment become the governing precept? Current Christian belief is that life begins at the moment of conception, when the sperm and egg are joined as one.
Another point that jumps out of this short verse is a four letter word “hate” Strong! Unequivocal! Definitely not wishy-washy. If I'm dealing a violation of the Word of God, hate is an appropriate emotion to apply. However the object of my hatred has to be the violation, not the violator. I must never forget that the Lord loved me while I was deep in a sinful, disobedient life. I must extend the same love to everyone.
