O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
Look at the way this Psalm progresses from the infinite, applied to all, but without reservation or restriction. The sole reason for giving thanks unto the LORD, is that He is universally good.
It then begins to narrow the application to Israel and then to the descendants of Aaron. If we stopped there, someone would use this passage to support the notion that only ordained ministers should pray. Utter nonsense.
But see that is actually applied to all who fear the LORD. Hallelujah! Let us all lift our voices together.
