O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds. I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD. I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people, In the courts of the LORD’S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
What a fitting conclusion to this Psalm of praise and transformation. The Psalmist throws himself at the feet of LORD, confessing fealty in all things. One of the vows is that he will call upon the name of the LORD. As I looked at that phrase, it occurred to me that this is a promise to take all my troubles, all my woes, all my needs, all my desires, all my joys, all my … In other words, to take positive steps to make the LORD, God, the Almighty the center of my life. A long ways to go.
