The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy;they are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness. He sent redemption to his people; he has commanded his covenant forever. Holy and awesome is his name! The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!
If fear of You is the beginning of wisdom, and it is, then I need to strive to understand You and gain a proper fear of You. Not fright but a deep and reverential respect and awe. Your mercy shields me from the terror that would be rightfully mine as a sinful fallen man; Your grace opens all the magnificent vista of the Kingdom of Heaven; Your love guides me through my call to be an ambassador to the Kingdom of Man.
