Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
If the reviling and persecution is truly because of my testimony, that I am to rejoice and be exceeding glad (KJV). But not because of an eventual reward but because I have been counted worthy to suffer for the Name of my Lord. And to experience a deeper awareness of the righteousness, peace and joy that is life in the Kingdom of Heaven in the here and now.
