Matthew 28:18-2

John Nunnikhoven

Matthew 28:18-20

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. (19) Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Be content with what I have! Now there is a hard saying, it forces me to not only be satisfied with material things but with status, with family and friends; it should cause me to closely examine all my ambitions to see if they are of You or something to enhance my pride. Every aspect of my life must come under the lens of this promise. Do I really have the faith to trust that You will never leave me nor forsake me?
