All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
Hallelujah, there is a path to understanding. Isn't that last phrase enormously comforting.
And it drives home the rebuke to Philip in John 14:9, "Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don't know who I am? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father! So why are you asking Me to show Him to you? " It brings the rebuke to me–stop asking and start trusting.
