Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."
Perhaps a paraphrase would help here: Jesus came to Galilee preaching the Good News and saying, "The time is ripe, the Kingdom of God is available to you, seek transformation by the Holy Spirit and learn to obey the Gospel."
