But he said, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"
Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and guardit is an alternate translation. But how do I guard the word? Obviously it starts with me. I need to guard how I use the Word and be careful to be obedient. Secondly, I need to guard how the world interprets the word and make sure I am not sucked into a false application. I need to hold up the Word of God as the supreme authority in all aspects of my life and insure that all other authority claims are consistent with the Word. In other words, I need to be a Berean and test everything against the Word.
