John 3:27, 35

John Nunnikhoven

John answered and said, "A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven….The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.

It is expected in many agrarian cultures that the oldest son inherited the farm, younger sons fended for themselves and daughters were expected to find husbands. John's audience would have understood and appreciated his statement. Inheriting the farm is the equivalent of being given all things. But this all things is far richer and totally inclusive.

Try this number, 15 747 724 136 275 002 577 605 653 961 181 555 468 044 717 914 527 116 709 366 231 425 076 185 631 031 296 protons in the universe and the same number of electrons, as estimated by Arthur Eddington in 1938. Since then physicists have concluded that protons and electrons are made up of smaller particles which may have sub-particles.

In short, all is a very large number, beyond human comprehension.
