Hebrews 8:4-5

John Nunnikhoven

For if he were on earth, he would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law; who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For he said, "see that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."

Why was Moses instructed to make all things according to the pattern shown him? The answer is one sense is very simple: The LORD, God, the Almighty knows exactly how He desires to be worshiped in every detail. And in another sense, He recognizes that we are a strong willed people and knowexactly how wewant to worship Him.

He has provide specific directions about how He wishes to be worshiped. The Psalms are full of the details. Do we read them with an attitude of looking for guidance?

Reading.

Morning Psalm 62, Noon Psalm 119:113-120, Evening Psalm 146
