Say therefore to the people of Israel, 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from slavery to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment. I will take you to be my people, and I will be your God, and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who has brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. … "Go in, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the people of Israel go out of his land."
Or more succinctly, the majesty of the Almighty vs. the magisterium of Pharaoh. Pharaoh had no inkling, not a whisper of an idea that he, the most powerful monarch in the world, was face to face with the representative of the LORD, God the Almighty. That representative, a member of a slave people and a menial shepherd, demanded that he kowtow to an unknown god.
Majesty trumps!
