1 Timothy 1:15-16

John Nunnikhoven

The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.

Paul claims the rank of chief sinner and I won't debate him, but his statement does give me great solace. I know the transformation worked in the Apostle Paul for I believe the record regarding who he was, I have read his writings and counsel to the Church. The conclusion is obvious–a miraculous transformation took place and that it was the result of the perfect patience of the Lord Jesus Christ.

What he did for Paul, He is doing in me.
