Realizing the presence, promise, and power of the Kingdom of God.
Realizing the presence, promise, and power of the Kingdom of God.

Psalm 119:49, 50 Monday

John Nunnikhoven

Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope.

Lord, my plea is that those promises in which I have placed all my hopes and that form the basis for my life, are indeed from You and by You. I have no other ground upon which to stand

This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life.

Lord, when will I learn the truth and certainty of this statement? That when I am afflicted and beset by troubles, it is then that Your promises shine like a brilliant beacon to give me life and hope. But it is during these times that my self-pity blinds my eyes to the brilliance and beauty of Your promises, I wallow in despair. Lord, help me.
