Matthew 5:10

John Nunnikhoven

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

"But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. Luke 6:27-28

Isn't this turning persecution into a blessing? If I love those who hate me, call for the LORD to bless those who curse me and pray for those who abuse me, I will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven in the here and now. Isn't this a part of the process of the Romans 12:2 transformation of my mind?

Today's readings in the Psalms:

Morning: Psalm 85

Mid-day: 119:1-8

Evening: Psalm 11
