“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.
Another example of possibly misdirected anger. I need to be very careful to examine the reason for the anger and respond in love for my brother and sorrow for the sin that besets him if this is the case. Otherwise, the penalties are severe as I impair my communion with the LORD, God the Almighty because my feelings have been hurt.
