Romans 4:5-6

John Nunnikhoven

And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:

Catch that–it is faith (trust, belief, commit, obey) that makes me righteous in His eyes. It is not all the things I do in His Name, or the number of times I preach or the books I write, or the consistency with which I read the Bible, or the elaborateness of my prayers, or on and on. No, it is do I trust Him, do I believe His Word, is He Lord and Master of my life?

Today's readings in the Psalms:

Morning: Psalm 44

Mid-day: 119:25-32

Evening: Psalm 120
