In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith–more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire–may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Isn’t this a powerful concept, one that would not occur to me without the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit, that it is through the fire of trials that I learn to depend upon my precious Lord and Savior. As I learn, the result is ever increasing praise and glorifying God and His love for me.
