For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Lord, man piles law upon law, rule upon rule, regulation upon regulation, bureaucrat upon bureaucrat, assimilating a huge, tottering, inefficient and ineffective structure to replace Your Law. The result of futile thinking by darkened hearts. All because we, sinful man, have self-promoted ourselves, elevated ourselves and named us gods. Millions upon millions of little gods, fighting and feuding among themselves for supremacy.
Yet all along, ever present and obvious to those who would perceive, are Your divine attributes, Your love, mercy and grace displayed for all and Your Law laid out to guide our lives. A simple step, to cry, “Lord, I believe, help me in my unbelief” and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
