SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

May 5, 2024

Psalm 98:4-6 NRSV
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises.
Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord.

We give exuberant praise to you, O Lord our God, because of the great salvation that you have accomplished for us! We join with saints the world over in shouting “joyful noises” to you, our Lord and King! Every means at hand we use to sing your praise and celebrate your awesome goodness.

We extol you for the wonderful God you are and the wonderful things you do. We praise you because you have not abandoned us in our sin. All that you do flows from your nature of perfect holiness, faithfulness, and loving-kindness.

We, your image bearers, join with all of creation – the roaring seas, the clapping floods, the singing hills – to proclaim our joy at your presence near us right now, and the hope of our eternal future with you (Psalm 98:7-9).

Amen.
