Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD, give praise, O servants of the LORD, who stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing to his name, for it is pleasant! For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his own possession. For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. Whatever the LORD pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain and brings forth the wind from his storehouses.
Let that line, “Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing to his name, for it is pleasant!” soak into your soul. Have you ever come in from a day of shoveling walks and drive ways after a major snow storm and collapsed into a warm bath. OH, my! What a treat. As is this line from Psalm 135. it is like a warm bath to tired muscles.
I, as I write, I am remembering an afternoon in the ‘50s when a friend and I spent several hours shoveling snow in the wealthier section of Des Moines, so we could take our current girlfriends out for an evening. It must have been worth it, that former GF, now my wife for 64 years, just brought me a cup of tea.
SING TO HIS NAME FOR HE IS PLEASANT.
