NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments. I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word. Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments. My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law. The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet I erred not from thy precepts. Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart. I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes alway, even unto the end.
There as so many phrases that jump right off the page every time I read them, but so many from the 119th. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet being an excellent example. Maybe another interesting project would be to examine this Psalm for Page Jumpers.
In the meantime, keeping on with the search for the Spirit’s leading in prayer to the LORD, God, the Almighty. Look at this one: “Accept, I beseech thee, the free will offerings of my mouth” Ish Elohim nails it precisely when he offers his prayers as being free will. No one is standing over him, dictating the format and content of his prayers except the Holy Spirit.
