Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools Psalm 94:8-11

John Nunnikhoven

Psalm 94:8-11

Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise? He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see. He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know? The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

Our thanksgivings were raised yesterday…or were they truly thanksgivings? The cynic in me wonders. Were those avowals of thanksgivings, of praise and loyalty to Him truly from my heart or were they but an idiot’s foolish attempt to pull wool over the eyes of the one who is Wisdom?

How I live; how I obey; how I witness on the Ides of March is a far more reliable indicator of the reality of my faith than is the sincerity of the prayers I offered at our family Thanksgiving feast.

Forgive me, LORD, God, the Almighty. I am but a weak, broken reed lashed by every hint of criticism.

Or set your own reading schedule up in convenient groupings as fits your study habits. But a daily time in the Word of the LORD is an absolute.
