Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; Nor are there any works like Your works Psalm 86:8-10

John Nunnikhoven

Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; Nor are there any works like Your works. All nations whom You have made Shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And shall glorify Your name. For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God.

You alone are God.

In a sense, this short, terse comment is the necessary and sufficient statement that sums up our faith. I am reminded of the requirement in mathematics that a proof of a theorem meet the these two conditions. This is our necessary and sufficient statement about our faith.  Is it necessary that we recognize that the LORD, God, the Almighty as God, the Father,  God the Son and God the Holy Spirit Alone is God?  Absolutely!  Is it sufficient? Does not the 1st Commandment tell us that we shall have not other gods before Him? Absolutely!

The LORD, God, the Almighty, the Triune God alone is God.
