Generous Justice by Timothy Keller

Chuck Huckaby

Generous Justice by Timothy Keller is a short but foundational book on Biblical Justice and how God’s profound grace to us through Jesus Christ inspires us to pursue it.

In the area of thinking about the impact of Christian Love on the social order, Roman Catholics have a variety of Papal Encyclicals. As Protestants, there are some authors who deal with the subject, but the misunderstandings of Scripture in our day and the caricatured views of both the Left and the Right as they seek the mantle of being called “Christian” made it imperative for a brief but effective restatement of what the Bible teaches about the topic of Micah 6:8, what most evangelicals shiver at the thought of saying, i.e. “Social Justice”.

Keller cuts us to the core making us look straight into the demands of God’s Word (as well as it’s intricacy that defies easy application at times) and reminding us we will consider God’s Law chafing only to the degree that we have not been truly amazed by God’s grace to us in Jesus Christ.

Generous Justice by Timothy Keller is a great book. I hope a million copies find their way into the hands and hearts of America’s Prostestants and changes us forever.
