2 Corinthians 7:13-16

John Nunnikhoven

Therefore we have been comforted in your comfort. And we rejoiced exceedingly more for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.

For if in anything I have boasted to him about you, I am not ashamed. But as we spokeall things to you in truth, even so our boasting to Titus was found true. And his affections are greater for you as he remembers the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you received him.

Therefore I rejoice that I have confidence in you in everything.

What a joy it must have been to Paul to have His love for and confidence in Titus reciprocated by the saints in Corinth. And vice versus.

We've all had that embarrassing experience of recommending a friend to a friend and getting the response, “What do you see in that turkey?” Not here.

Worst of all is when we recommend another assembly to friends about to take a trip and getting the “turkey” response. Brothers and sisters, that should not be.
