1 Corinthians 10:23-24

John Nunnikhoven

All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify. Let no one seek his own, but each one the other's well-being.

Paul here and in the following verses, is establishing an very important principle. We are to avoid deliberate actions that demonstrate our freedom under the Law but are offensive to those who have not yet realized that freedom.

I have, by so doing, moved the focus of the discusssion to the need for the prohibition at a certain time and away from our freedom that we enjoy as His disciples.
