Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense.
This is a perplexing passage of Scripture. I know, for example that there are foods that are not good for me; I'm highly alergic to lactose for example and need to avoid certain foods. However there are foods which some have declared to be unfit for human consumption in general. Could it be that Paul is counsouling against the elevation of some to a state of worship? Or sinfulness? Some in my family are allergic to glucose, and it is a true allergy. Does Paul in that last phrase, " evil for the man who eats with offense" that glucose may have unfortunate consequencesfor some, but not all? I don"t know.
