Isaiah 34:1-2, 8

John Nunnikhoven

Come near, you nations, to hear; And heed, you people! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, The world and all thingsthat come forth from it. For the indignation of the LORD isagainst all nations, And Hisfury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter… For it isthe day of the LORD's vengeance, The year of recompense for the cause of Zion.

That day will come when the LORD demands retribution against all nations for their persecution of Israel, none will be spared. That year of recompense for the cause of Zion is yet to come but it will come.

An interesting thought arises through Romans 11. Will those Gentiles grafted into Israel be include in the Lord's fury? Will our brothers and sisters in the 10-40 window see justice done after the terrible persecution they have suffered and continue to endure?

This little phrase, “all things” has powerful consequences.
