Deuteronomy 22.23, 24
23 “If a young woman who isa virgin is betrothed to a husband, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her, 24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he humbled his neighbor’s wife; so you shall put away the evil from among you.”
Suffer, and Do Good
1 Peter 4.16-19
16 Yet if anyone suffersas a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. 17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it beginswith us, what will bethe end for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 Now
“If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”
19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

Beyond simply confronting cultural abuse and misuse, Christians must make a conscientious effort to restore culture so that it serves as a means and end to the glory of God by demonstrating the love He intends all people to know.
