Two aspects to Paul’s use of this quote from Psalm 68.18 I find fascinating, and they relate to how we should understand culture and its use.

Him you shall hear, 16according too all you desired of the LORDyour God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the LORDmy God, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die.’ 17 And the LORDsaid to me, ‘What they have spoken is good. 18 I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19 And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words which He speaks in My name, I will require itof him. 20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’”

Proper Adornment
1 Peter 3.3-6
3Do not let your adornment be merely outward – arranging the hair, wearing of gold, or putting on fine apparel – 4rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beautyof a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight. 5For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their husbands, 6as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.
